Located in Chuiba, just a few km from the Town of Pemba .
A seven  kilometre road connects Chuiba Bay Lodge  to Pemba Airport, welcoming international flights from Maputo, Dar-es-Salaam and Nairobi (LAM Mozambique airlines) and Johannesburg (LAM or South Africa AIRLINK or Ethiopia Airlines) with connections to the rest of the world.

Scattered along ten hectares of untouched nature, nestled on the dunes, with a dazzling deserted sandy beach spreading for kilometers, transparent warm waters and a rich biodiversity, Chuiba Bay Lodge is the romantic getaway retreat in beachside comfort.
With ecological construction blending with nature -earth brick walls and macuti roofs -  the indigenous vegetation carefully kept and the magnificent Indian Ocean waters, we are the perfect destination for those needing to unwind from busy daily life.

NO OF ROOMS
Ten  luxury suites, spacious en suite bathrooms with al-fresco patios, air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite TV, safe, personal bar, linen gowns and guest amenities.

Spacious lounges elegantly decorated, with air conditioning ( hardly used due to a constant refreshing southern breeze which milds the tropical warm weather all year round ), fans and wide open patio doors embracing the surrounding landscape, large terraces with generous day beds, two pools and a gym, complete this idyllic setting.
A tropicalised Yamaha piano in one of the lounges  (probably the only one in Northern Mozambique)  invites piano playing  lovers to this amazing environment.

You do not have to go far for culture: Chuiba Bay Lodge is a cultural experience by itself:
* Amaze yourself with incredible sunrises, equal to none;
* Watch the Macua women and children of Chuiba Village, swiftly conquering the sea at low
tide, collecting clams, mussels and sea urchins - their daily curry - and the fragile dhows
flowing with the tide, in which local men bring ashore fresh fish, lobster and  prawns - the
delicious dishes our guests love;
* Wonder yourself on endless walks on the gorgeous sand banks, by low tide;

Guided visits (free for stays of minimum three nights)
* Visit the skillful Maconde Masters Centre  where they create the world famous ebony
sculptures - incredible intricate masterpieces like the Shetani  (devils) or Ujama  (community projects), using traditional methods handed out from generation to generation.
* Visit the local Village, it's people and traditions.

Pristine beach  and Boma experiences:

* Candlelight barbecue diner served on our Boma, while watching  a group of villagers  performing Sungura - a local dance at the sound of drums.
Choose one of the above, free of charge, for a stay of minimum three nights.

* Enjoy snorkeling or canoeing in crystal clear warm waters;
* Scuba Dive on the charming Pemba Bay or head out on a deep sea fishing adventure.

Excellent Mediterranean slow food type,  with a fusion touch , combined with traditional specialities,  always made from fresh ingredients, with a profusion of seafood - fresh fish, lobster, prawns and the delicious giant crabs, delicious curries and the Portuguese famous cataplanas.

COMMUNAL FACILITIES: Chuiba  Bay Lodge has a large Lounge, a Restaurant and Bar and a Spa.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
MALARIA: Until today, and probably due  the fresh breeze from the south, Chuiba Bay Lodge has never experienced the presence of any mosquitoes, either by day or night.
We do, however, still recommend the usual prevention measures against malaria.
FIRE: Fire extinguishers spread out trough the resort.

PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Non refundable 30% deposit required for confirmed bookings.
Balance of 70% required 30 days prior to arrival.
100% cancellation fee less than 30 days prior to arrival
No refund will be given to a guest leaving prior to booked departure date.

 

CHILD POLICY
One child  7 years and under, allowed to share suite with two paying adults, child sleeping on a comfortable swahili bed, free of charge.
