Itineraries

Day 1

Your Plan

You will be met by our Representative for a brief introduction to your safari and later transfer to Wilson airstrip for your flight to Meru. By 9.00am headed to your destination. After a 1 hour flight, you will check in at the Camp in time of lunch. Relax and refresh before embarking on an evening 2 hours game drive.

Day 2

Your Plan

Wake up at 6.30am for your heavy breakfast. Check out of the camp and drive to the park in search of the big five, with the many bird life species. Regular sightings include Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Elephant, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Lesser Kudu, Grant’s Gazelle, Leopard, Lion, Cheetah, Rhino and the rare, elusive Greater Kudu. Named after Elsa the lioness of ‘Born Free’ fame, Elsa’s Kopje lodge is invisible to the eye as you approach the Kopjes. George Adamson’s original campsite was located nearby. Because it is the only operational lodge in Meru National Park, Elsa’s guests have the entire park to themselves. After a successful game drive and game viewing, you shall check back into the camp for dinner and overnight at Elsa Kopjes Camp.

Day 3

Your Plan

After breakfasts enjoy the day discovering Meru National Park which is wild and beautiful. Straddling the equator and bisected by 13 rivers and numerous mountain-fed streams, it is an especially beautiful area of Kenya. It has diverse scenery from woodlands at 3,400ft (1,036m) on the slopes of Nyambeni Mountain Range, north east of Mt. Kenya, to wide open plains with meandering riverbanks dotted with doum palms. Meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 4

Your Plan

After a sumptuous breakfast enjoy your day by the pool area and after lunch time you can enjoy fishing activities and a visit to the Meru Sanctuary before embarking to freshen up and be ready for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Your Plan

You will be treated to a final early morning game drive in this vast conservancy. Return to the lodge for breakfast after which you will be transferred to the local air strip for a scheduled flight back to Nairobi; other plans can be made through Surreal Afrika Tours.
